Where to stay short term in Valencia while looking for a permanent home?

Renting or buying an apartment in Valencia is a pretty straight forward process if you speak Spanish. However it is very much advisable that you start surveying properties online about three months before the big move to become more familiar with Valencian rental market offerings and prices. This way you’ll understand what you can expect within the parameters of your budget and get a good feel for what neighbourhoods you should aim for. When you are already here, with a little luck it is possible to find an apartment literally within days. In fact, if renting in Valencia, it’s impossible to signs for apartments more than a couple months in advance. But where to stay while you still haven´t got your permanent home?

1.Airbnb

Some expats coming to Valencia might consider Airbnb for their first stay and for many it is a smart thing to do. For those who doesn´t know, Airbnb is an online community marketplace that connects people looking to rent their homes with people who are looking for short term accommodations. It offers different experience and more personalized service from standard hotels. Many of the people who host short-term rentals go all out to make their guests’ stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. So if you have just arrived to Valencia, a good host can be an excellent resource for learning about a local culture and customs. Plus, it can also be much cheaper than a hotel, and you can often get a lot more room for your money. If you are about to make your first reservation on Airbnb you also can get a little discount.

2.Hotel

Studies show that over 50% of all hotel nights booked in Europe are booked through booking.com and there is a good reason for that. Almost all hotels in Valencia, all that matter anyway have a listing on booking.com site. The first and most obvious advantage for using booking.com is price. More often than not, the price here will be less expensive than the listed price on hotel websites. Also you don´t have to make payments upfront, you get free cancellation on most of the rooms listed and booking.com’s increased focus on user reviews provides a one-stop-shop for consumers. I know the  title for this section is hotel, but booking.com actually puts a focus on offering a wide range of different types of accommodations. From cozy Bed and Breakfasts to country houses, guest houses, apartments, villas, lodges and more.
