Christmas has come and this year it will be as sunny as usual, probably quite hard to believe for those who were here staying most of the November and December months as it rained a lot. There are many events for different tastes this Christmas here in Valencia, but here are some you probably wouldn’t want to miss.
A perfect place to get into the Christmas spirit is the City of the Arts and Sciences. The Walk of Arbotantes (Rainforest) of the Umbracle of the City of the Arts and Sciences is offering once again a very Christmaslike experience to enjoy with family and friends: Christmas workshops, ice skating, a Christmas market, a solidarity corner, street food, Christmas Photo Call and a Christmas crib with more than 300 pieces.
The ice rink will be located by the Hemisfèric and will be open until the 8th of January so you can enjoy the experience of skating in this unique environment of the City of the Arts and Sciences. And along the Umbracle Walk of Arbotantes, a space adjacent to the Museum and Hemisfèric lakes, visitors will be able to wander more than 30 Christmas market stalls where they can shop for Christmas items from jewellery and gift products to vintage treasures and wooden toys. There will also be food trucks serving a variety of gastronomic delicacies.
The little ones will not get bored either: in the same area there is also a wide range of activities for children: a free playroom with games and music and an area with paid attractions such as trampolines, mini golf, Funfair and a pedal train. In addition, the children will be able to deliver their letters to Santa Claus, who will tell stories (in Spanish of course), and to the emissary of the Three Wise Men.
From the 23rd of December to the 8th of January, a puppet show will be held in the afternoons. Yet another fun activity for children is the singing games performances and games with piñatas on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th, and 8th of January starting at 1:00pm. A solidarity corner will also be installed where visitors can deposit toys that will be destined to different NGOs.
