As a relocation agency, for the past 5 years we have personally and directly assisted a considerable number of clients with their temporary non-lucrative permit renewals (in Spanish – “renovación de la autorización de residencia temporal no lucrativa”) in Valencia, Spain. Mostly we have worked with clients from the US, Canada and Australia and we are proud to admit that we have not failed even once and all submitted applications were 100% successfully approved. As quite recently we have made a strategical decision to no longer provide direct assistance with this type of residence renewals, we are happy to make our know-how available to expatriates willing to carry out the renewal process themselves.
Our intention is to deliver our expertise by providing professional, comprehensive, accurate and detailed guidelines in English, based on law, official information sheets provided by the Immigration Office (they are in the annex of these guidelines), and our professional experience with non-lucrative residency renewals carried out during the past five years in Valencia, Spain.
Here are the questions which are covered in the guidelines:
- When should I file for the renewal?
- What are the general requirements?
- What documents do I need to provide?
- Where to file?
- How long it will take?
- How can I follow up on the status?
- What if I receive a “requerimiento” letter?
- How will I be notified of the decision?
- Can I travel in the meantime?
- How do I secure an appointment for the TIE card?
- What do I need to bring to the TIE card appointment?
- When can I collect the card?
- Filing for a long-term residency
The guidelines were completed in April 2021, but we will keep updating them as and when any important changes or modifications are introduced, therefore we encourage you to always download the latest version available here. The cost of the guidelines is 27euro, including 21% VAT, and we hope you will find the contribution fair to help us to cover the work involved. Once completed the payment, you will receive a PDF document (in English, with example screenshots) and annex with form examples (in English) and the official information sheets provided by the Valencian Immigration office (in Spanish).
This material is informative and complementary in nature and therefore we cannot guarantee that following these guidelines will ensure your renewal approval, but we believe it will be a helpful resource for those intending to carry out the renewal process by themselves.

As a way to say thank you to the YES team, I wanted to mention that I bought their book a few months ago and used it for my renewal of non lucrative residency in Valencia.
The book was really helpful, and the guys behind it were great too.

Dear Yes Valencia team,
We wanted to thank you for your wonderful work with the guidelines. We could successfully renew our residencies and just today we went to Police on Calle Gremis for our new cards.
Everything went smooth and we are happy to stay in our favourite city for other two years!

The best 27€ I’ve spent in quite a while. After struggling for several weeks trying to figure it all out on our own, we were ready to go after we got this guide and our renewal was approved. Highly recommended.!!!
